About Lynham & Co

The Lynham Difference

Real estate is not complicated, but it is important. It is often one of the largest financial decisions people make, and at the same time it is tied closely to family, timing and personal circumstances.

That is where the difference usually lies — not in what is done, but in how it is handled.

Family owned. Townsville based.

Graham, Shelly, Nathan and Daniel Lynham — working together in the Townsville real estate market.

Our story

A business built over time.

Lynham & Co began in December 2009 in Kirwan. What started as Graham Lynham Real Estate has grown steadily over the years, built on consistent work, local knowledge and long-term relationships within the Townsville community.

In August 2023, the business became Lynham & Co, reflecting the involvement of Nathan and Daniel Lynham and the direction the business is heading.

We have never tried to be the biggest agency in Townsville. The focus has always been on doing the job properly and building something that lasts.

Local knowledge

Townsville is not just where we work.

We have lived and worked in Townsville for most of our lives. That means understanding how different areas perform, what buyers are looking for, how rental demand shifts and how the market moves over time.

It also means understanding people. Most of our clients are local families making important decisions. That context matters.

2009

Established in Kirwan and built steadily from there.

Family

Townsville

Local experience across sales and property management.

Why it matters

Local experience should show up in the advice, not just the branding.

Anyone can say they know the area. The real test is whether the advice is practical, whether it reflects the current market and whether it helps you make a better decision.

That is what we try to bring to each conversation — not a script, but a clear view of what matters for the property, the market and the person sitting in front of us.

What makes us different

The difference is usually in the way the work is done.

1

Family business

Our name is on the door, and that matters. We care about the standard of work because the business has been built around long-term relationships.

2

Local judgement

We understand Townsville property because we have lived through the market cycles, not just read the latest suburb data.

3

Sales and management

Because we work across both sales and property management, we see property from more than one angle — owners, tenants, buyers and investors.

4

Landlord experience

We have been landlords ourselves. We understand the need for clear communication, reliable rent, practical maintenance and consistency.

5

Experience and new thinking

The business combines long-term experience with a willingness to adapt as technology, buyer behaviour and client expectations change.

6

Practical communication

A large part of real estate is simply keeping people informed, dealing with issues early and making sure nothing important is missed.

How we approach the job

No two properties, owners or situations are exactly the same.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach in real estate. Every property is different. Every client is different. Every situation is different.

Our role is to understand the position you are in, explain what matters and guide the process from start to finish.

In simple terms, that means:

Keeping things moving.

Making sure the small details are handled properly.

Explaining decisions clearly.

Helping you act with the right information at the right time.

Continuous improvement

We review what we do regularly.

Not for the sake of change, but to make sure we are doing things better over time.

Systems, processes and communication all matter. In a business built on relationships, consistency is important.

Experience with perspective

The market changes. The fundamentals do not.

Technology changes. Buyer behaviour changes. Rental expectations change. The way people want to communicate changes.

But the fundamentals remain the same — effort, honesty, judgement, consistency and care. You need both experience to understand the basics and adaptability to respond to what is happening now.

What this means for you

Whether you are selling, buying or looking for property management, the expectation should be the same.

Clear communication, practical advice and a process handled properly from start to finish. No unnecessary complication. No guesswork.

Final note

We are a family business, but more importantly, we are part of the Townsville community.

Most of the people we deal with, we will see again — either through property, or simply through life in the same city.

That tends to keep standards where they should be.
